cool skateboarder

My entry today was fun and simple to make and is for just two challenges.

I used the sketch at Anyone For Anya? and spun it on it's side.

I am also entering this into the Papertake Weekly Challenge which is 'spots and stripes'.

All papers used, as well as the ribbon, are from the Cosmo Cricket ~ Get Happy range. I used a combination of the 12 x 12 and 8 x 8 papers.

The image is Skater Ian from The Greeting Farm. I coloured him with my copics.

Thank you for looking.

baking cakes clipboard notebook

This is my entry for just two competitions.

I have used this week's sketch at Just Magnolia. At least I have as far as I am able to with the clipboard. I have used some artistic licence as far as the flowers are concerned.

This is how my clipboard notebook started out, before I started messing.

I am also entering this into the challenge at A Spoon Full of Sugar where the theme is 'kitchen/cooking'.

You'll need to click on the photos to see them a bit more clearly.

All papers are from the October Afternoon ~ Cherry Hill collection. These papers caused me no end of frustration. Having coloured Tilda to match the pink and blue papers, I then had no end of difficulty in tieing it into the red. The jury is still out on that one.

I have used three Magnolia stamps:

~ Baking Tilda with wooden spoon

~ Shelf with napkins

~ Cake

I coloured them all with my copics.

Thank you for looking.

altered skull

My mojo seems to have gone off for a walk this week, so unlike me. I've started a few projects, but can't seem to finish them, so I have a few things in various stages of completion.

I did manage to finish altering a skull today though. This has been on and off my craft table for the past week. Of course, it's not a real skull. It started off life looking like this:

I think it is made from a piece of MDF.

I am entering this into 11 challenges.

At My Time to Craft Challenge the theme is Halloween colours.

The Paperminutes challenge is that 'the shape of the card fits the theme'.

'F is for flying' is the theme at ABC Challenge -I have bats on my project.

Theme Thursday has a challenge of 'faces'.

Lots to Do has a recipe challenge of 'stamping, paint and metal'.

Finally, Our Creative Corner ask us to be 'inspired by our favourite holiday', mine is Halloween.

All the papers used are from My Mind's Eye ~ The Spider's Web collection. There's a lot of distressing going on.

I used a mixture of Tim Holtz crackle paint, crackle accents and stickles.

It was really difficult trying to get a decent photo, so I have included a few here. If you click on the images, you may be able to see it better.

For the bats flying out of the top of the skull's head, I used an Inkadinkado ~ Happy Haunting stamp, which I also embossed. (I absolutely love this new range of Inkadinkado stamps and have accumulated a few now, so expect to see more on my projects).

The '31' numbers are metal Tim Holtz ~ Numerals which I've layered with acrylic paint and crackle paint. The crackle paint on the numbers hadn't finished its crackle process at the time of taking these photos.

I'm not quite sure what I will do with it now, but I'm mulling over a few ideas, whilst wondering when my mojo will put in an appearance.

Thank you for looking.

all hallows eve

Today I have another entry for Halloween and I am entering this into nine challenges.
I used this weeks sketch at Sketch Saturday and turned it on its side.

At Cute Card Thursday the theme is 'spooky'.

Lots To Do Challenges ask us to make 'any card'.

Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge require us to use an old stamp and mine is from last year's Halloween collection.

Finally, at Gingersnap Creations the challenge is to use 'brads', I have used five.

I used papers from the Graphic 45 ~ Renaissance Faire Collection and used Masterpiece and Renaissance Faire.

Halloween sentiments are from the Pink Paislee ~ Twilight collection.

The image is Magnolia ~ Tilda with Pumpkin. I coloured her with my copics.

I matted her on to a piece of Coredinations cardstock which I had run through my Sizzix Texture Boutique (my new toy) using the Cuttlebug ~ Script embossing folder. I then sanded the surface lightly.

I used my EK Success ~ Morrocco Lace punch on the right hand side of the image.

I have added five sugar coated brads by Doodlebug in alternating orange and black.

The spider ribbon is by Making Memories.

Magnolia Chef Tilda with Acrylic Cover

It seems an age since I used a Tilda, so she is feeling sadly neglected in my stamp box! I am entering this into seven challenges.

I am using this week's fabulolus sketch at Sketch & Stash, combined with my new stamps and very old and not-before used papers.

My colour inspiration has come from the blues, greens and whites in the picture at the Stamp With Us colour challenge.

The Everybody Art Challenge requires us to use 'shapes or punches'- I have done both.

Creative Card Crew require us to use 'scallops' - these form part of the recipe tag.

At PaperPlay Challenges the challenge is to use your favourite embellishment - for me this is a clock and I have used one here.

At Just Magnolia the theme is 'bright and zingy'.

Finally, Daring Card Makers want to see something clear.

For the first layer I used a Zutter clear acrylic cover and stamped the Magnolia ~ Recipe Card stamp directly onto it.

For my image I used Magnolia ~ Chef Tilda and coloured her with my copics.

I then cut her out and stuck her onto the recipe card on the acrylic cover.

My patterned papers are all from the SEI ~ Poppy collection.

I stamped another recipe card out for the inside front cover and matched it up so that it lined up with the same image on the acrylic cover.

Here is a picture with the acrylic cover opened.

The clock is a chipboard clock by Heidi Swapp and the flower a rub-on by K&Co.

I have used my Round-it-all to round all the corners.

Christmas is coming ... manga style

When I saw that the theme this fortnight over at The Sugar Bowl was 'Christmas', I just had to join in. Especially as I'd just purchased some of the new Manga Christmas stamps.

Here is the sketch that they provided.

All papers used (apart from the Bazzill) are from the Sassafraslass ~ Serendipity: Life at the Pole collection.

I've used my Martha Stewart ~ Snowflake punch and my Fiskars ~ Antique Elegance circle punch everywhere I could! I've inked the edges and added stickles for some extra Christmas sparkle.

As usual with my photos, zoom in for a closer view of the detail.

The snowflake trim across the middle was made from Bazzill ~ Just the Edge Cardstock Strips. I cut apart each snowflake, inked the edges and added some stickles. I'm having a bit of a stickle thing going on a the moment you might have guessed!

The image is Sugar Nellie ~ Miss Clasue. Isn't she just darling?

I coloured her with my copics and added yet more stickles to the white trims.

The 'Christmas is coming' sentiment is a rub-on.

Thank you for looking.

It seems they like my last posting remember this ... where I used Kreinik metallic threads to lace up my paper. Well I have plenty of these threads left over from my stitching days, so I will have to see what other crafty uses I can find for them.

Here's a close up of my Kreinik thread stitching.

Here is a sample of my Kreinik thread stash:

remember this ...

My entry today is for seven challenges.

I have used this fabulous sketch over at Whiff of Joy Monday Challenge, together with my WOJ image.

At One Stop Craft Challenge, the theme is 'Autumn inspiration'.

Tuesday Taggers have a theme of 'Shades of Autumn'.

CRAFT Challenge have provided an inspirational autumnal photograph.

Gingersnap Creations have 'Harvest' as a theme.

'Autumn Glory' is the first challenge theme at By the Cute and Girly.

Whilst Crafty Calendar Challenge also have a first challenge theme of 'Autumn'.

I have had these gorgeous papers on my desk for a few weeks now, together with this stamped image. I always knew that I would use them together and was just waiting for the opportunity to do so.

Here is my piece:

You will no doubt recognise the papers as being from the My Mind's Eye ~ Bloom & Grow ~ Grow collection. These papers were originally issued for the Spring market but I think they work perfectly for Autumn also. I can say that as I never got around to using them in the Spring. I used Just Stripes, Falling Leaves and Funky Vines. I distressed the edges and added a dose of Stickles.

The image is Elisabeth Bell ~ Windswept. OK, yes I have just realised that this EB stamp was not issued through WOJ but through Sugar Nellie. So I guess I am out of the competition! However, I've got this far so I guess I'll just have to carry on! At least I got the designer right!

The sentiment stamps are by Pink Paislee. I stamped each out on to a piece of fabric. For the 'Harvest' one, I stretched it over a large button, for the 'Remember This' I stretched it over chipboard. I added some stickles to the edges.

You may see in the top right corner, I tore the card, then laced it up with some Kreinik metallic.

trick or treat

This Halloween project came together like a breeze, unlike some of the things I've made!

I am entering it into six challenges.

I am using this week's sketch at Sketch and Stash, combined with new papers and an old SN stamp. The beauty of this challenge is that you can place your sentiments and embellishments wherever you please.

At Theme Thursday the theme is 'wings' ~ I have bat wings!

Saturday Spotlight have their very first challenge which is to 'make something Halloween without using a halloween image'. I used a Gorjuss Girl for mine.

This week's challenge at A Spoon Full of Sugar is 'Halloween'.

Creative Card Crew have 'Celebration' as a theme and that includes Halloween.

Finally, the challenge at ABC Challenge is 'E is for embossing'. I have embossed my ghost.

I used Bo Bunny papers, Boo Crew ~ Stripe, both sides!

I added a strip of black lace held in place with a photo anchor and a skull brad by Little Yellow Bicycle.

The image is a Gorjuss Girl, I coloured her with my copics.

The ghost, bat and date images are also by LYB. I embossed the ghost onto black cardstock.

The Trick or Treat sentiment is by Pink Paislee.

believe in santa

Christmas is coming and I have an entry today for four challenges.

The Simon Says Challenge is to use a red and green colour combo ~ perfect for a traditional Christmas.

At Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge the theme is 'Celebration' ~ Christmas is always a celebration.

Crazy 4 Challenges want to see stitching ~ I have machine stitching.

Finally, Stamp With Us want to see 'anything but a card' ~ I have made a mini book.

Here it is:
I used papers from the Bo Bunny ~ Believe range. The 'Believe' sentiment is part of a Tim Holtz stamp.

This little cutie is by Marianne Design and I coloured her with my copics.
You can find the stamp available for purchase at The Card Studio. You will also be able to see my original work of this book on display there.

Don't forget the next Make & Take Demo day at The Card Studio is 24 October. I will be there demonstrating so if you are in the area, please pop by and say 'hi'.

pick me ...

Click on any photo for a close up. My entry today is for four challenges.

I used this week's sketch at Sketch Saturday.

At Creative Inspirations the challenge is to use 'letters or numbers'. I have used 'pick me ...'.

At Gingersnap Creations ~ Once In a Blue Moon Challenge we are required to combine two or more of their previous challenges. I chose GC06: Gardening with GC16: Ribbon.

Finally, I am entering this into the Moxie Fab World 'gradient is radiant' challenge (my second time participating, so hope it is allowed!).

Here is what I came up with:

The patterned papers are from the Prima ~ Angelique collection. I used Angel Breathe and Harp.

I used my EK Success ~ Binding Edge edger punch and distressed the edges of the paper.

The image is Leanne Ellis ~ Pick Me. I coloured her with my copics, inked the edges and then covered the entire piece with Ranger ~ Crackle Accents.

I added some paper rose buds to the buttons at the top.

At the bottom, I added some ribbon to a buckle and put a pink gem in the middle.

Wouldn't it be nice if everyone who visited my blog left a message. Then I could come visit you and get to know you. How cool would that be?

Thank you for looking.
