how do I love thee?

Good morning!

Today I am back for the valentine challenge at Everybody Art Challenge.

I have used another Prima doll! I just can't get enough of them :) Waiting impatiently for the new ones to come out.

I applied paper to a Prima tag and then have added some layers to it.

Papers: Pink Paislee ~ Spring Fling. These are as old as the hills!

Love this gorgeous Prima flower!

santa claus is coming to town

Good morning! Friday at last and a new challenge at Crafts 4 Eternity where the theme is CHRISTMAS!

So today I have made another mixed media collage incorporating a picture. It has a bit of a Bruce Springsteen feel to it, I can picture Bruce roaring up in this chariot!

So my background is all kinds of stuff, papers and paints and doilies. I'm really loving using the distress paints at the moment for these collages, they are so vibrant in colour.

The trees I cut from a Magnolia die.

The santa in his car is cut from Pink Paislee ~ Father Christmas papers.

life is good

Today at Crafts 4 Eternity we have a lilac, green and grey colour challenge. I will leave the challenge police to decide whether my green is green, bluey green or blue as I was going boss-eyed thinking about it!

I haven't made a box for ages, so I decided to make a box for this one.
Here is the top.

I've used my Nesties ~ Grand labels die to make the top and base of the box. The wooden birdcage is from the Pink Paislee ~ Butterfly Collection. I've embossed it and inked it and smeared paint on it until it ended up looking like this. The flowers have had a good spritzing of glimmer mist, so they do sparkle, but that is not showing up in these photos.

Here is the right hand side.

I have used Melissa Frances ~ 5th Avenue papers throughout.

The back of the box.
I've also used strips of Tim Holtz ~ Tissue Tape in places.

This is the left hand side of the box.
I have used a Tim Holtz ~ Corked Vial removed the cork and filled it with flowers. I glued them in to stop them falling out, added some gems and a little crochet doily.

To make the drawers, I used my Sizzix ~ Matchbox die.
Here is the first drawer.

The second drawer.

And the third drawer.

Here are all the drawers together.

all hallows eve

Hello! Oh my word, the weeks are whizzing by and already here I am at my 3rd week as Guest Designer for Cupcake Craft Challenges and so enjoying my time here. This week the challenge is BUTTONS & BOWS.

Now please bear with me on the photos, we may be enjoying a beautiful, beautiful October, the best since records began BUT it does not make it easy to photograph!

Once again, I could not resist decorating one of these cute little paperbags, this time a kraft bag and making a mini notebook to pop inside. And ... guess what? ... it is nearly Halloween.

Once again I've used papers from the Pink Paislee ~ Twilight collection.

For the bag, I created a little tag with Tilda with Thistle. As usual, I coloured her with copics and added some stickles.

I created a little notebook to go inside the bag, with more buttons and bows.

I must admit, I am absolutely rubbish at tying bows. I never could tie a shoe lace properly, so what you see here are glorified knots.

Here are the backs.
I am including this at the following challenges:

Empoisoner ... Poisoner

'Tis the season ... Halloween that is. I just love to create for Halloween although I no longer do anything on the day, I used to love dressing up and going trick or treating as a kid.

OK, this is my second week guest designing for Cupcake Craft Challenges where the challenge is uhmmmm ... HALLOWEEN!

For this one I have dug out one of my old Halloween Tildas, but never inked before.

For this project I have used papers from the Pink Paislee ~ Twilight collection.

For my Halloween tree I have used the Magnolia Tree Die. I love this, so versatile.
My image is Magnolia ~ Sitting Witch Tilda coloured with copics and added stickles.

Prima flowers and a metal skull brad complete.

fate and dreams collide

Well hurrar! Blogger is working again and all is well with the world.

Today's challenge at Crafts 4 Eternity is to use any or all of the above colours in your project.

To make my envelope album, I've used the red and white colours. Whether they are grenadine and vanilla, I have no idea.

I've used Bazzill cardstock for the cover and jazzed it up by spritzing it with Tattered Angels ~ Glimmer Mist. The sentiment is a Tim Holtz stamp and I made a metal frame using the Tim Holtz Sizzix ~ Tags & Bookplates die and uhmmm, a piece of metal!
The book is made up of envelopes and tags.

The tags were cut with the Sizzix Tags & Bookplates die.
The envelopes were cut with my Sizzix ~ Envelope die.

I've given each envelope a different fastening closure.
I used up another of those Tim Holtz ~ Fragments. Woohoo! Only another 42 to go.

Papers used were Pink Paislee ~ 365 degrees. Seems I had quite a few of the same sheets in my stash.

Sorry about all the photos, I just like taking photos.
I'm going to enter this in at the following challenges:

butterfly garden

I ran short of time making my Mother's Day card this year, so decided to do something a little different, instead of colouring up an image.

I'd just bought these gorgeous papers Pink Paislee ~ Butterfly Garden. I used the 6 x 6 version of the papers on this. They are so pretty!

I used a Tim Holtz ~Kraft Glassine Pocket on the front. I added a strip of patterned paper and stamped the flower image from the Pink Paislee ~ Butterfly Garden stamp collection using distress ink.

I added a Prima butterfly - I inked up the edges and added some stickles. Then I folded the flap of the pocket back on itself, spritzed it with glimmer mist and secured it with a brad.

I made a tag with some little handsewn buttons and added some lace.

I am going to pop this into the following challenges:

'flower palette inspiration photo': The Shabby Tearoom.
'Mum's the word': My Time To Craft.
'buttons, bling & bloom': Stamptacular Sunday Challenge.

a little bird's tale: Day 3 ~ Tim Holtz 12 tags of Christmas 2010

Hello

Well this is my 'official' 3rd tag of Christmas, although of course it does not follow a Christmas theme ... again.

For my tree I used a Tattered Angels ~ Garden: Blossom Trees stamp. This image has a little bird's nest filled with eggs so I rubbed some Scattered Straw Distress Stickles into the nest and highlighted the eggs with Star Dust Stickles.

For the tag I used Shabby Shutters, Peeled Paint and Pine Needles Distress Ink and Walnut Stain for the edges. The script stamp used was by Paper Artsy. I just love this technique and will use it time and time again ... so thank you Tim.

Here is a close up of the bird cut with the Tim Holtz ~ Caged Bird die.

Unfortunately, I cut off his branch before I decided that I wanted to keep it, so stuck it back on again but forgot to ink the edges. Ho hum. I used Pink Paislee ~ Anthology scraps for the bird which acted as a great resist for the alcohol inks.

The 'a little bird's tale' tag was cut from Heidi Grace papers of the same name and also used thes as my background papers.

The floral ribbon trim is Webster's Pages.

I'm popping this in at the following challenges:
'anything goes': Creative Card Crew
'use a die cut': Little Red Wagon
'add texture': If the Shoe Fits

let the music play on

Today at Crafts 4 Eternity we have the theme 'silver and blue' to be used in conjunction with this sketch.

I am also entering into the following challenges:

'3 of anything': Daring Card Makers I have three butterflies;
'make it shine':  If the Shoe Fits;
'things with wings': Gingersnap Creations;
'square': Stamp with Fun;
'sparkle & shine': Saturday Challenge;
'sparkle': Simon Says.

Here is my entry:

I've used papers from the Pink Paislee ~ Parisian Anthology line. As soon as I started using these papers, I went back online and ordered some more ... they are lush!

The silver ruffled ribbon trim is from the same line.

I've done a lot of embossing of the edges in a mixture of blue then silver and sometimes just silver.

The image is of course Magnolia ~ Tilda playing violin. As usual, I've coloured her with copics and added some stickles.

The butterflies were made from a butterfly stamp from the same Parisian Anthology line. I embossed the stamped image in blue and silver embossing powder and then embossed the edges in silver.

Thank you for looking.

poison

 Today at  Crafts 4 Eternity, we have a sketch and a halloween theme.

<< Here is the sketch.

I am entering this into the following challenges which all have a halloween theme:

Stamp With Fun
A Spoon Full of Sugar
Creative Inspirations
Dutch Dare
C.R.A.F.T. Challenge
Stampin's For The Weekend
By The Cute & Girly

and finally, 'no white paper': The Corrosive Challenge.

I've struggled to get into the Halloween groove, which normally I love. I think because I was in the midst of Christmassy type things. Also I wasn't feeling very inspired by my Halloween rubbah!

I've used papers by Pink Paislee and My Mind's Eye. My Martha Stewart punches created the spider's web border & strip.

I embossed a Tim Holtz tag with the Sizzix Poison Texture Fades embossing folder. Then I used various inks, glimmer mists and gold paste to give it some character.

I gave the same treatment to a ticket cut from the Ticket Strip die and stamped it with a Tim Holtz halloween ticket stamp.

The cat is a Basic Grey chipboard piece from the Eerie collection. I spritzed it with glimmer mists and rubbed some stickles in.

Thank you for looking.
