... dear ... love ...

Here is my entry for this week's Crafts 4 Eternity recipe challenge. Do enter as there is a fab digi stamp up for grabs.

The ingredients are:

The sketch.

Use an inking technique.

Use fabric.
I am also entering this into the following challenges:

'cut it out and pop it up': Craft Creations Challenge. I have done this with my image.

'clean & simple': Saturday Spotlight. This is clean and simple for me as I didn't want to cover up the yummy papers with lots of fussy stuff.

'at least 3 different textures': Crazy 4 Challenges. I have the raised image, metal snap and flowers with sequin centres.

Papers: Webster's Pages ~ Postcards from Paris: Belle Rose and La Boutique de Jardin.

I cut out the elaborate scroll frame and inked the edges with gold as I did with the outer edges of the card too. The lines on the scroll frame represent the horizontal strips on the sketch.

I added mini fabric flowers with sequin centres to the frame. I have no idea where these came from ... a lucky discovery when looking for something else in my stash!

Image: Magnolia ~ Tilda Writing Diary coloured with copics. I love this Tilda and I think she has become my new absolute favourite!

I added another larger fabric flower and used a We R Memory Keepers snap in the centre ... I'm gradually using them up.

Thank you for looking.

going my way?

Challenges:

'In the frame': My Time to Craft.

'Vintage with flowers': Simon Says Challenge.

'O is for One paper': ABC Challenge.

Papers: K&Co ~ Blue Awning. I absolutely love these papers! I have a whole pad of them and don't use them anywhere near enough, but when I do, it is a real pleasure.

I took a strip of pre-cut border (bought before there was such a thing as border punches!), added a strip of ribbon and a swirl of lacy ribbon on top and stapled them all together.

The flower is a Bo Bunny fabric flower, layered with a Prima paper flower and a We R Memory Keepers snap centre.

Image & sentiment: Kraftin' Kimmie ~ Genevieve, coloured with copics.

The acetate frame around the image is also from the K&Co ~ Blue Awning collection.

I'm actually quite pleased with this as everything that I've used apart from the image and sentiment has been in my stash forever. Does that mean I can justify buying some of the new CHA releases ... something I have so far managed to hold back on?!

Thank you for looking.

it's a HEN party

Here is my DT entry this week for Crafts 4 Eternity. We have another fab recipe challenge which is:
  • the sketch
  • colours: pink and black
  • use: staples
I am also entering this into the following challenges:

'pearls & swirls': Whiff of Joy

'make your creation messy with distressing etc': Saturday Spotlight.

Papers: Bo Bunny ~ Beau Jardin: Blush.

I have distressed the edges with black glitter embossing powder.

Assorted paper and fabric flowers from stash as well as brads and pearls. Mini black flowers were stapled on.

Image: Whiff of Joy ~ Elisabeth Bell: Dancing Willow coloured with copics and stickles added.

Willow is mounted onto a Bo Bunny cut out which has been distressed with black glitter stickles before mounting onto a Hambly frame.

Thank you for looking.

girly girl

Happy Valentine's Day!

This is my first card as dt member on Crafts 4 eternity.

This week the recipe ingredients are:

1. the sketch

2. include chipboard

3. use polka dots

We do hope that you will join us.

I am also entering this into the following challenges:

'ribbons': Belli Challenge.

'something cute': Stamp Something.

'dazzle us': Fussy & Fancy Friday.

'get out something old & use it': Our Creative Corner. I have used a daisy ribbon which I bought when I first started crafting.

'hearts': Stamp with Fun. I have hearts on the background paper and dress of the girl.

'colour challenge inspired by pinks, white and blue of photo': Stamp With Us.

I have spun the sketch on it's side.

Papers: Imaginisce ~ Perfectly Posh. I have also used a white polka dot Bazzill piece as the background to the image. Beneath that is a piece of pink polka dot cardstock, also Bazzill.

At the base of the card is a piece of blue polka dot cardstock, covered with pink lace. I have then hand sewn on some buttons and added the daisy ribbon lace.

Image: CC Designs ~ Swiss Miss Rosalie coloured with copics and I added some stickles. I've also added stickles to the edges of the papers. Click the photos to get a better view.

The chipboard 'girly girl' tag is also by Imaginisce. To cover the grey chipboard, I inked the edges with white ink and added some stickles.

Edited to add:

These gorgeous flowers arrived for me this morning.

They smell fabulous! Even Henry thinks so ...

Thank you for looking.

for the two of us

This is the card that I have made for my Valentine and there is no shortage of challenges that I can enter this one into, so here goes:

'Include one or more flowers': Theme Thursday.

'Hearts & Flowers': Polka Doodles.

'Have a heart': Daring Card Makers.

'Multifold': Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge (in the ribbons).

'Love is in the air': Lots To Do.

This is one of the quickest cards that I ever made I think! It just fell out of my head and onto the paper.

Because of the black paper this card was quite difficult to photograph, so I will include some close ups here. Now I am wondering whether it is too girly.

Papers: Graphic 45 ~ Le Romantique: Sweetheart of Mine and Daydreams.

There is lots of gold embossing going on and it is quite sparkly, you might want to click on the photos for a closer look.

The crumpled up ribbon came out of my scrap box looking like that, so I left it. Added some old buttons which I partly embossed with gold and then added some stickles.

The flower has been spritzed with glimmer mist.

The word 'Love' is a Prima stamp which I embossed with gold and the music is a Tim Holtz stamp also embossed with gold.

I hope he likes it!

Thank you for looking.

crafts 4 eternity

No card from me today I'm afraid, but I do have some exciting news ...

The very lovely Michele at Crafts 4 eternity has very kindly asked me to join her dt.

Well as you all know, I love my sketch challenges and would be lost without them and as I have stash 4 eternity how could I resist!

I've had a sneek peek at the forthcoming sketches which come with a little recipe attached and they are fab ... fab ... FAB!!

So I do hope that you will join me every Sunday when we can all join in with Michele's fab recipe challenge.

It's not too late to enter this week's challenge which can be found here and just in case you are in need of new stash (and let's face it who isn't?) you can buy online (that means shopping night and/or day ... bliss!) at the Crafts 4 eternity shop.

So if I don't see you before then, I will definitely be back on Sunday with my best frock on, nicely polished shoes and my C4E card to share. I do hope you will join us!

happy halloween

Yes, I know it is the Valentine season and not Halloween, but I've just bought this stamp and could not wait until Halloween to use her. Besides which I have a box of Halloween papers that need using up, so why not?

I am entering this into the following challenges:

'Fairy folk': My Time to Craft.

'Triangles': Paperminutes - formed by the panels of her dress.

'Ribbons': Creative Belli.

'Spots & Dots': Cute Card Thursday.

'Distress, buttons & bows': Allsorts Challenge.

'New stash': ABC Challenge.

Papers & Happy Halloween Tag: My Mind's Eye ~ Spider's Web collection.

I have distressed the edges with stickles.

This fabulous stamp is Sweet November Stamps ~ Gossamer Cornwand. Expect to see some more from me using these stamps. I coloured her with my copics and added my At You Spica pen to the web of her dress, shoes and the wings. Unfortunately the sparkle does not show up in the photo.

At the corners of her dress where the spiders are hanging I added some spider peel-offs where they had been part of the stamped image so that I could cut it out easier.

Thank you for looking.
