you are so beautiful to me

Hello! This week at Crafts 4 Eternity we have a theme of BEARS.

I struggled with what I should do for this at first, as I'm not really a bear person, but then I remembered this Gorjuss Girl stamp. The last time I coloured her up was back in 2009 CLICK HERE.

Papers: My Mind's Eye ~ Stella & Rose: Hazel.

I've distressed the edges, inked them with walnut stain and rubbed on some gold.

The image is coloured with copics.

The fence and cloud dies are by Magnolia.

I am entering this in at the following challenges:

trick or treat

This Halloween project came together like a breeze, unlike some of the things I've made!

I am entering it into six challenges.

I am using this week's sketch at Sketch and Stash, combined with new papers and an old SN stamp. The beauty of this challenge is that you can place your sentiments and embellishments wherever you please.

At Theme Thursday the theme is 'wings' ~ I have bat wings!

Saturday Spotlight have their very first challenge which is to 'make something Halloween without using a halloween image'. I used a Gorjuss Girl for mine.

This week's challenge at A Spoon Full of Sugar is 'Halloween'.

Creative Card Crew have 'Celebration' as a theme and that includes Halloween.

Finally, the challenge at ABC Challenge is 'E is for embossing'. I have embossed my ghost.

I used Bo Bunny papers, Boo Crew ~ Stripe, both sides!

I added a strip of black lace held in place with a photo anchor and a skull brad by Little Yellow Bicycle.

The image is a Gorjuss Girl, I coloured her with my copics.

The ghost, bat and date images are also by LYB. I embossed the ghost onto black cardstock.

The Trick or Treat sentiment is by Pink Paislee.

my family ... ... my life

Today I am entering the competition at the Sugar Bowl where they have this fabulous sketch.

The additional part of the challenge is to use 'ribbons and or bows somewhere on your creation'.
I decided to make a mini book using one of Suzanne Woolcott's Gorjuss Girls.

I turned the sketch on it's side so that the vertical band is across the bottom and this is what I came up with:

All cardstock used is from the Bo Bunny ~ Beautiful Life collection. I created various layers to the cover by mounting the cardstock onto chipboard and inking and embossing the edges.
I turned the very centre panel into a little door by adding a hinge and door knob.

The Gorjuss Girl image I used is Bear Hug and I coloured her with my copics.
What is behind the door?
For the band in the sketch I punched some circles using a circle punch, inked and embossed the edges and glued them in a strip across cover, layering slightly as I went.
Here is a picture of the back cover.

Finally, I bound it with my Bind-it-all and added some ribbons.

thinking of you

My card today is for three challenges:

The sketch I used is from this week's challenge at Sketch and Stash, which I spun around 90 degrees. The papers and stamp that I used are all new and have never been used before.

I am also entering this into the Secret Crafter Saturday Challenge and the Dutch Dare Card Challenge, where the challenge in each case is 'glitter'. I have used glitter brads and stickles.

Here is my card and if it looks a little wonky, it is! I hadn't finished sticking it all down properly but wanted to photograph it in the five minutes of available light I had left.

The base card is Bazzill Swiss Dot and patterned papers are from the Sassafraslass ~ Vintage Yummy collection.

I used Daintily and Blossomed to create a double layered distressed heart which I edged with Stickles.
The image is a Gorjuss Girl and I coloured her with my copics and added some more stickles to the wings.
The heart is sitting on a piece of Darling Dear which I matted and stitched with my sewing machine. I also stitched on a strip of shaped border from the papers.
The ribbon trim is from my stash and is held in place at each end, with glitter brads.
Below is a close up of the sentiment and you can also see some of the sparkle on the card. I made the 'you' from chipboard letters which I embossed with Tim Holtz ~ Distress Embossing Powder and then added some stickles.
Thank you for looking.

buttons

My card today fits in with two challenges.

As soon as I saw the sketch at CPS I knew that I would use it for my next card.

I am also entering the challenge at A Spoon Full of Sugar where the theme is 'buttons'.

I used the same papers as I had used on my previous card, from the Crate Paper ~ Sweet Branch collection. However this time I put more emphasis on the green and picked up on the blue, purple and brown.

Here is my card:

I used green bazzil cardstock for matting and stitched the layers by machine with dark brown thread to provide a contrast.

For the horizontal band, I stitched a piece of ribbon to the card and sewed on some buttons by hand in co-ordinating colours to match the colours in the patterned card.

The image is a Gorjuss Girl with her cat and I coloured her with my copics.

Flowers are a mixture from my stash and I finished the centre with a sugar coated brad.
Thank you for looking and any comments you might leave.

getting sticky

Today I have been getting sticky in the Sugar Bowl where they have a fabulous sketch for this week's challenge:

The additional ingredient to the challenge is to use buttons.

For my card I used papers from the Crate Paper ~ Sweet Branch collection, which I matted and stitched with my sewing machine.

For the three horizontal lines in the sketch, I used sheer white ribbon which I held in place by sewing on a button at each end, in different colours to match the papers. Overall I was trying to accentuate the orange, white and green parts of the papers.

Here is my card:

With the flower decoration, I again kept to the orange white and green theme.
The image is of course a Gorjuss Girl and I coloured her with my copics.
I created the scallop border on each side by layering up inks in graduating shades and then embossing it.

red, white and blue USA

I am entering FIVE challenges today with my little red, white and blue USA book.

The challenges are:
Here is my book: The background papers are Sandylion ~ Upper Deck. I embossed some chipboard letters, spelling out 'USA' in red, white and blue and layered them up onto squares that I made and painted with crackle paint. Three little pearls add another bit of texture.
The image is of course a Gorjuss Girl. I coloured her with my copics and added some stickles. I layered her up in the same way that I had done the letters and added some red and blue brads to the corners.
I bound the book and added some star shaped and stripey ribbons in keeping with the US theme.

it's your birthday

I needed a birthday card and I loved the look of this week's sketch at Mojo Monday.

I made a base card from Bazzill cardstock. All patterned papers are from the S.E.I ~ Black Orchid collection and I inked up all the edges with black.

The image is Gorjuss Girl ~ Purrfect Friend and I coloured her with my copics.

The sentiment is by Penny Black and I embossed it with black glitter embossing powder.

Flowers are Prima and I used a Doodlebug crushed velvet brad for the centre. Buttons are from my stash.
Happy Birthday!! Hope you have a great day. xx

explore ...

The Everybody-Art-Challenge this week, is a sketch challenge. Here is the sketch which I followed.

In addition, I am also entering my card into two other challenges:

A Spoon Full of Sugar Challenge which has a theme of 'torn edges'; and

ABC Challenge where 'D is for distressing'.

Well I think there are plenty of torn edges and distressing going on here.
All papers used are from Crate Paper ~ Hampton Collection. Brads are by Making Memories and ribbons from my stash. The 'explore' snap is by We R Memory Keepers.

The image is Gorjuss Girl ~ A Little Bird Told Me. I have coloured her up with my Copics.
As you can see there is a lot of inking and tearing and curling of edges.
Thank you for looking.

gorjuss girl believe

I can't believe that I've had my Gorjuss Girls for nearly a week and have only just gotten round to inking one up!

For the card, I used this week's sketch at the Sketch and Stash Challenge Blog. The idea is to use the sketch and your newest stash. Well my Gorjuss Girls are the newest stash I have.

All cardstock used is Cosmo Cricket ~ Halfway Cafe.

I added some Tim Holtz bits and pieces and the ribbons, buttons and brads were from my stash.
The Gorjuss Girl image is Just a Girl and I coloured her with my Copics.
