happy holidays

The challenges:
'Use punches' ~ Crazy 4 Challenges.

Papers: Making Memories ~ Mistletoe: Happy Holidays.

For the main piece, I embossed the edges with black and red glitter embossing powder, before machine stitching the edges. You might notice that the machine went a bit crazy with the zig zag. This is because it is old and I need a new one. I've asked santa for a new one, but he is quite forgetful, so I have to remind him every day. Well that's fine, I will do that until I know it is safely on his sleigh! LOL. I did show him this as an example of why I need a new one and his response was that nobody would notice. Well I guess that's the beauty of hand made!

Flowers: Prima
Brad: SEI ~ I'll have run out of these by the time I get to use the matching paper that I bought them for!

Image: Magnolia ~ Silent Night Tilda, coloured with copics.

I dry embossed the paper that Tilda is standing on with a snowflake embossing folder. The edges have been punched with a Martha Stewart ~ Snowflake border punch. I've added some more red and gold glitter embossing. Tilda is standing on snow ~ also known as Cosmic Shimmer ~ Glitter Jewels.

loving memories

I've recently discovered a fab set of papers in my stash and although these are Christmas themed papers I wanted to go for more of a winter and less of a Christmas feel.

Challenges:

The Sketch (spun on it's side): Crafts 4 Eternity. Additional ingredients - a flower or two and a sprinkle of glitter.

Other challenges:

From the Forest: Saturday Surprise.

Merry Christmas, Happy Winter: Kraftin' Kimmie.

Favourite things: Creative Card Crew. Mine is crafty stash, of course!

Three: Wednesday Stamper. I have 3 brads.

Winter Love: Simon Says.

Chipboard: Creative Belli.

Click on photos for a better view.

Papers: Making Memories ~ Mistletoe: Cardinal, Icon Dot and Mistletoe.
Chipboard: Bracket (recovered with Mistletoe paper) and 'Memories' tab page ~ Fancy Pants.
Flowers: Prima
Brads: Papermania and SEI.
Ribbon: Doodlebug.
Machine stitching.
Punch: Martha Stewart ~ Branch.

Image: Diane Duda ~ Winter Birds coloured with copics. Aren't they soo cute! I don't normally buy just pure animal themed stamps but this one was too irresistable and I am sure I will use it again.

I added Cosmic Shimmer ~ Glitter Jewels to the branches where the snow is.

Another view:

I am using this set of papers for my next piece but I will be using different papers from the set together with one of my new Christmas Magnolias. Which one? You'll see soon! She is all coloured up, in fact I coloured her before I made this one. I was just waiting for the right sketch to come up (which it now has) as I have a certain look in my head for her. So I hope to share that one with you soon.

Thank you for looking.

hung by the chimney with care

I'm not sure about this one. There is something about it that's not right, but I can't put my finger on it. Too bare maybe? I didn't want to cover up those yummy papers! I was looking to make a very quick and simple card, but the colouring on this took me forever ... you would not believe! Then I couldn't decide how best to use the finished image, so this is what I ended up with.

The sketch: Friday Sketchers.

Other challenges:

Free theme: Lots to Do.

Papers: My Mind's Eye ~ Wonderful Winter (the glittery version of Be Merry. As if there isn't enough glitter on the papers, I have applied stickles to the edges.

Brads and snowflake charm by Making Memories.

Image: Magnolia ~ Fireplace with Tilda & Edwin's Stockings, coloured with copics.

Background embossed with snowflake embossing folder.

cherish ... U

Not a lot of crafting going on this week, but sheltering from yesterday's storms, I fled to my safe harbour (my craft room ... lol) and produced this! Still loving the new Kraftin' Kimmie stamps, so went for one of those rather than dirtying my new Christmas Magnolia's, WOJ's, SN's & SK's!! Yes, I know, Christmas is fast approaching and I seem to have acquired quite a collection of Christmas stamps. I really should 'get around to it', but for now....

The sketch: Stamp Something.

Other challenges:

New/neglected stashCreative Inspirations. I used a new stamp and old papers.

StitchingQuixotic Challenges. I have machine stitching.

Patterned paper: Theme Thursday.

Circles: Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps. I have a circle in my brad!

Papers & chipboard 'U': Prima ~ Steel Toe Mary Jane Collection.

Cherish sticker: Making Memories.

Brad: Basic Grey.

Flowers: from stash.

Image: Kraftin' Kimmie ~ Clara. Coloured with copics.

I always show my finished pieces to my other half. His comment to this one was: why the U? I'm hoping therefore that my crafting pals 'get it'. Kind of defeats the object if you have to explain it! LOL!

Thank you for looking.

pesky frog

I didn't know what else to call this post. As much as I love frogs ... and I do ... if I had one balanced on my head, I would think him pesky!

I'm just loving these new stamps put out by Kraftin' Kimmie and couldn't wait to get one inked up.

This entry is for four challenges.

Other challenges:

Stitching: Kraftin' Kimmie Stamp Challenges of course!

Distressed: Lots To Do Challenge.

Be inspired by the photo: Our Creative Corner. I took my inspiration from the colours.

As usual, click on photos for a better view.

Papers: Crate Paper ~ Crush Collection: Island, Coral and Sand.

I have distressed, inked, embossed and machine stitched.

Punch: EK Success ~ binding edge.

Image: Kraftin' Kimmie ~ Lillith. Coloured with copics and then covered with Crackle Accents.

Thinking of all those who lost their lives for us, on this Remembrance Sunday.

1 two, buckle my shoe

My entry today is for six challenges.
I have used this week's sketch at Mojo Monday.

The challenge at Stamp Something is 'cute and fuzzy' ~ I think this qualifies.

At Daring Cardmakers the challenge is to 'use your latest craft punch'. I have used two new ones for the first time.

At One Stop Craft Challenge the challenge is to use 'newspaper or text'. I have used text.

Saturday Spotlight has a challenge to 'use words'.

Finally, My Time To Craft has a challenge to 'use scallops', which I have done with one of my punches.

All papers used are from the October Afternoon ~ Ducks In A Row collection, as is the wild card.

I have used my Martha Stewart scallop punch on the vertical edge and my baby feet punch next to the image.

The image is Pregnant Willow by Elisabeth Bell. I coloured her with my copics.

Thank you for looking.

Edited to add: So pleased to learn that I made the Top 5 with this at Stamp Something. Thanks for voting for me!

Christmas Day Fairy

Time for another Christmas posting and I am entering this into three challenges.
I have used this fabulous sketch by Kathy over at The Sugar Bowl, which I have spun on its side. There is an additional challenge ~ to include lace.

I am also entering this into the Simon Says Challenge which is 'all that sparkles'. I have used lots of stickles.

Finally, Stamp With Us have a theme of 'Christmas'.

All papers used, including the flower at the bottom and leaves at the top left, are from the Fancy Pants ~ Happy Holidays collection. I have applied stickles to the edges.

Paper flowers are Prima and I have used glittery brads in the centre.

The image is Sugar Nellie ~ Manga Fairy. I coloured her with Copics and stickles.

Thank you for looking.
