hung by the chimney with care

I'm not sure about this one. There is something about it that's not right, but I can't put my finger on it. Too bare maybe? I didn't want to cover up those yummy papers! I was looking to make a very quick and simple card, but the colouring on this took me forever ... you would not believe! Then I couldn't decide how best to use the finished image, so this is what I ended up with.

The sketch: Friday Sketchers.

Other challenges:

Free theme: Lots to Do.

Papers: My Mind's Eye ~ Wonderful Winter (the glittery version of Be Merry. As if there isn't enough glitter on the papers, I have applied stickles to the edges.

Brads and snowflake charm by Making Memories.

Image: Magnolia ~ Fireplace with Tilda & Edwin's Stockings, coloured with copics.

Background embossed with snowflake embossing folder.

Thank you for looking.

I see what you mean about this card - perhaps you could stamp and cut out some candles to go on top which might give it a bit extra - but I don't know - I often have cards that aren't quite "right" but can never work out what the problem is!! (and of course, everyone else LOVES the card so we are left wondering why we think it's not right - ha ha!!)
