rock-a-bye baby: Graphic 45 Little Darlings

Good evening! Today I'm coming at you from Crafts 4 Eternity where this week we have a them of nursery rhymes

What a great excuse to dig out my as yet untouched Graphic 45 ~ Little Darlings papers. I love this paper line so much, that after buying a full set of 12 x 12, I then went and bought the 12 x 12 paper pad also.

I've made a box and here is the front. You'll see I've used some of the chipboard pieces from the collection.

When you lift off the lid, the front piece falls down.

Here's the full piece open. Excuse the sunshiney shadows :)

The top section consists of two pockets, with space on the front for a photo.

The front pouch contains a simple little card, ready for a personal message to be added.

The pack pouch contains a little mini album.

Also, we are having a design team call. We are looking for 5 new members no less. All you have to do to apply, is leave a ling to your blog here: Crafts 4 Eternity Design Team Call. You have until midnight 5th October 2012 to apply.

I am entering this in at the following challenges:

Thank you for looking.

b for baby

Hi there, mega short and sweet from me today. Have had a busy week and also one of my beloved kitties has gone missing, for three days now. He has gone missing before, but not for this long when we've been at home, so am really worried.  He was acting a bit sulky in the couple of days before he disappeared, so I am hoping he is just off on a sulky huff and will be back soon!! But I miss him dreadfully, and just want to see his face at my craft room window meowing at me as if it was my fault he has been neglected so long. Yup, I did say he was a 'he'.

Well on to today's challenge at Crafts 4 Eternity where we have the challenge of Something New.

My card is for a new baby. Simply made as I just used up scraps. I have bags of scraps and sometimes I force myself to sit and use them.  Not often enough though as my scraps bags are bulging at the seams!

Anyway, using up my scraps is a HUGE challenge for me, as normally I just want to crack on with something new and more detailed and I find it takes a whole new mind set to sit down and make a simple card.

Thank you for looking :)

sweet one

Firstly, I must apologise for being awol on visiting your blogs this past month, I have just had a lot on and haven't had any time to surf the net. I will be catching up during the coming week. Thank you for those that have forgiven me and taken the time to comment, it is very much appreciated.

Ooh, almost forgot, today is Easter Day, so Happy Easter to all. I guess the reason why I forgot that it was Easter, is because I've already eaten my egg. I mean, come on, if someone gave you an Easter egg on Thursday evening, would it still be knocking around now? NO! Hmmmm, I did hint last night that I had eaten my egg and so wouldn't have anything chocolatey to eat come the actual day and being a choc-a-holic and it being Easter day, you'd expect to have some chocolate. I've typed up this post in advance, so will wait with eager anticipation!!

On to today's card which is my DT post for Crafts 4 Eternity. Another fabulous recipe, which goes as follows:

The sketch (which is fab, fab, fab).

Use an Easter image or theme.

Include buttons.

I've just had a quick (? make that an hour or so and it is already gone 2 in the morning) rummage around the challenges and am entering this into:

'Anything goes': Papertake Weekly and Crafty Creations.

This card is quite sparkly and if you click on the photos, it may show up in the close ups.

Papers: Imaginisce ~ For Peep's Sake.

I used a Martha Stewart crown border punch. Had it for an age but never yet used.

Hopefully you can see the glitter better in this picture. This is Sarah Kay ~ How sweet you are. I coloured her with copics and added some stickles.

Lots of machine stitching going on.

For my buttons, I added some tiny flower rub-ons to them before stitching them on. So cute!

Thank you for visiting.

sweetness

There is another fabulous recipe challenge this week at Crafts 4 Eternity:

The sketch (which I spun on it's side).

Use some notepaper.

Include a butterfly.

I really am loving these recipes as they are encouraging me to use up some long forgotten stash and I am really in 'using up my stash' mode at the moment.

Other challenges that I am entering:

'anything Spring': (I have chosen Spring colours) The Pink Elephant.

'are you wearing green?': (my lady is!) Created By Hand.

'flowers with option of pastel colours': (which I have) Crafty Calendar Challenge.

Papers: Cosmo Cricket ~ Honey Pie

Notepaper: Making Memories ~ {note}worthy. I have several of these spiral notebooks, long forgotten about in favour of other things, so it was good to go back to it.

I added some further layers of notebook effect paper by using my EK Success edge punch. I added some embossing, machine stitching and some gorgeous velvety lace ribbon and floral lace.

The butterfly is a K&Co rub-on.

Flowers are Prima and I hand sewed a button to the centre.

Image: Elisabeth Bell ~ Willow Holding Baby coloured with copics.

The 'sweetness snap' is by We R Memory Keepers. I'm gradually using them up!

A Tim Holtz ticket.

Thank you for looking.

peach baby

The Sketch: Cutie Sunday. Although I had to make the motif section a bit bigger because of the punch I used.

Other challenges:

There isn't a lot to say about this one, except the photos make the colours look very washed out. It is more vibrant irl!

Papers: Graphic 45 ~ Baby 2 Bride Collection. I've inked the edges and machine stitched them.

The splodges on the 'seat' that Tilda is sitting on is where I've glimmer misted the papers, just to let you know it isn't a coffee stain. I really am beginning to dislike that glimmer mist stuff intensely - I've already ruined one piece today that I had spent hours working on.

Punches: Fiskars ~ Antique Elegance and a Martha Stewart scallop punch.

Flowers: Bo Bunny with added glimmer mist.

Image: Magnolia ~ Pink Tilda with striped tights coloured with copics.

Thank you for looking.

1 two, buckle my shoe

My entry today is for six challenges.
I have used this week's sketch at Mojo Monday.

The challenge at Stamp Something is 'cute and fuzzy' ~ I think this qualifies.

At Daring Cardmakers the challenge is to 'use your latest craft punch'. I have used two new ones for the first time.

At One Stop Craft Challenge the challenge is to use 'newspaper or text'. I have used text.

Saturday Spotlight has a challenge to 'use words'.

Finally, My Time To Craft has a challenge to 'use scallops', which I have done with one of my punches.

All papers used are from the October Afternoon ~ Ducks In A Row collection, as is the wild card.

I have used my Martha Stewart scallop punch on the vertical edge and my baby feet punch next to the image.

The image is Pregnant Willow by Elisabeth Bell. I coloured her with my copics.

Thank you for looking.

Edited to add: So pleased to learn that I made the Top 5 with this at Stamp Something. Thanks for voting for me!

fragile delight

My card today is for FIVE challenges.

I used this week's gorgeous sketch at Card Patterns.

At No Time To Stamp the challenge is 'sparkle' - I have used stickles on the wings.

Stamp With Us has the theme of 'a children's card'.

Stamp With Fun requires us to use 'shapes or punches' - I have used a border punch.

Finally, Creative Inspirations has a theme of 'stitching - real or faux' - I have done some machine stitching.

Here is my card:
All patterned papers used are from the S.E.I. ~ Chick-a-dee collection. I used chick-a-dee, anna's bananas and ga-ga.

I used a Fiskars border punch for the paper at the base of the card and threaded it with ribbon from my stash.

The image is Magnolia ~ Dreamy Tilda. She is one of my favourites. I coloured her with Copics and used Stickles for the wings.
I created a large layered flower with a mixture of silk, felt and paper flowers from my stash and used a Tim Holtz ~ Snap for the centre. The 'delight' tag is by Making Memories and I used Doodlebug crushed velvet brads to decorate.

The ribbons are a mixture of S.E.I ~ Chick-a-dee ribbons and left overs from my stash. The button brads are by Making Memories. The 'fragile' pin is a Tim Holtz ~ Trinket pin.
Finally I leave you with a pic of Henry ~ my 8 week old kitten.
Thank you for looking.
